The Last Post Professional Bugler for funerals

One of my proudest moments…

One of my proudest moments, was being tasked by the Regimental Band of The Royal Welsh, to perform the “Last Post” at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff, prior to the start of the Wales v South Africa Rugby International in November 2013. This was to an audience of approximately 70,000 and several million world-wide viewers on live television.

I'm able to perform "Sunset" for the Funeral Services of ex-Royal Marines and the Cavalry "Last Post" and "Reveille" for ex-Cavalry/Royal Artillery personnel, if required.

The sounding of the "Last Post"

The sounding of the “Last Post” is probably one of the most poignant and moving moments you will experience and as a current serving member of the Army Reserve, I know only too well its significance and importance to Military personnel and their families.

Please be assured that I am fully conversant with all the necessary Ceremonial protocols, in order to perform my duties with the utmost professionalism and dignity and will liaise with all involved regarding the arrangements for a Funeral i.e. Family members, Funeral Director, Celebrant to ensure that everything goes smoothly on the day.

I'm able to perform "Sunset" for the Funeral Services of ex-Royal Marines and the Cavalry "Last Post" and "Reveille" for ex-Cavalry/Royal Artillery personnel, if required.

For those with little or no previous experience of arranging a Military themed funeral, I have compiled a short video to assist you with the planning and protocols involved. Please see below.

Andrew was nothing short of exceptional. He showed such respect and professionalism. A funeral service is always going to be a difficult and somewhat unpredictable experience. What we found with Andrew was a moment when we could really reflect on dad's sacrifice for his country. You only hear the bugle played like that at the cenotaph. My only regret is that dad wasnt there to hear it. Andrew, thank you from the bottom of my heart. You honoured my father's memory beautifully.

Thank you Andrew for playing at my dad’s funeral … it was amazing and I know he would have appreciated it. Family and friends had said how wonderful the sound was and it was a fantastic end for my dad.

Your excellent playing was a key and poignant part of the service for us all and the general role you played was much appreciated by ourselves and the wider family.

I felt that I should write to you regarding the funeral of Mr. M. The respect you gave to this service was first class. The family said you brought everything together and said to pass on their heartfelt thanks to you. The older men at the service all said the same thing - 'note perfect' … the only place you hear the last post played like that is at the cenotaph! You have given the family a wonderful memory which will last a lifetime. On behalf of myself and the family and all the staff who had the pleasure to hear you play, I thank you so very much.
    K.W. (Funeral Director – Bristol)
